/// Education I spent 4 years at the Université de Rennes II (France) and the University of Memphis (Tennessee, USA), to complete a Master's degree ("Maîtrise") majoring in English language, literature and civilization. I then attended the Université de Lille III (France) to obtain a post-graduate degree ("DESS de traduction") specializing in Legal, Business and Technical translations. The enthusiasm I developed for new technologies soon added to my interest in languages. In 1997, at the beginning of the digital era, I wrote a linguistic research paper called "French Cyberculture: English Loanwords in the Internet World", a paper which I was invited to present at the South Eastern Conference On Linguistics, in Lafayette, Louisiana (USA) the next year. I then carried out an internship in the Languages and Translations Department of France Télécom’s Corporate Headquarters in Paris, where I created a general lexicon on telecommunications (70 pages), as well as a bilingual glossary on mobile Internet (90 pages). |
/// Experience & Specialist Areas | ||||
I've been offering my services since 2006 for translation, revising/editing, post-editing and language project management (resource coordination, proofreading, quality assurance, terminology management), always meeting specifications and delivering on time.
![]() I previously spent six years working as a technical writer/translator for Packard Bell/NEC, and two years giving occasional lectures at the Université Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers, where I taught technical writing to students on the European Master's in Specialized Translation course. My specialist areas result from both my career background and personal interests, and are therefore clearly eclectic: IT, marketing, environmental issues, renewable energy, market research surveys/opinion polls, tourism, or food. An enthusiastic and detail-oriented approach is my hallmark! |
My clients range from small local businesses to European authorities or large international communications agencies. I am a team leader for one such agency, overseeing 15 people and providing translations for a company which has been recognized as a pioneer of IT solutions for over a hundred years. I'm also localization manager for another American new technology giant (storage, data centers, Big Data, etc.). In addition, I regularly translate technical and marketing documents for a number of solar panel manufacturers, and enjoy translating communications for a leading airline into French, as well as menus (amongst other things!) for an American cruise line. ![]() |
As a seasoned “globe-trotting tech-nomad”, I spend a lot of my free time travelling the world with my husband and three children (America, Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe). My passions are obviously travel and new technologies, but I also love food, reading and English-language films. |
